Company History​

SIT has deep historical roots and technical expertise, employing over 200 professionals locally in Italy. SIT’s history dates back to 1838, when Martino Scaglia founded the company in the Bergamo region, originally manufacturing wooden pulleys and accessories for the textile industry. This marked the beginning of today’s multinational group to which SIT belongs.

 

Even today, SIT’s main production facility remains in the Bergamo region of Italy, covering a total plant area of over 7,000 square meters. The operations and logistics center is located in Cusago, a suburb of Milan, featuring a state-of-the-art fully automated warehouse with a total roofed area of more than 11,000 square meters.

Starting from the valleys of northern Italy, SIT has gradually expanded across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, building a global manufacturing and sales network comprised of wholly owned subsidiaries, joint ventures, and strategic distribution partners.
